Description
Enhance your games of The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-earth with new figures, trinkets, and titles! No matter whether you seek the Ember Crown or are investigating a rash of thefts across Eriador, you can bring the dastardly villains you face to life with the Villains of Eriador Figure Pack.
This figure pack contains three detailed, unpainted plastic figures that give the Gulgotar, Atarin, and Coalfang enemies from both the Bones of Arnor and Hunt for the Ember Crown campaigns an imposing presence on your tabletop. But you don't have to face these dastardly villains unprepared. Six new trinkets and three exciting new titles give you new ways to deal with any enemies you come across.
The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth Villains of Eriador Figure pack (if these titles get any longer I won’t have enough words left to write about them!) provides the Boss villains for the first two campaigns. We get the giant Orc Gulgotar and the Numenorian Atarin from the Bones of Arnor campaign and the ancient Warg Coalfang from The Hunt for the Ember Crown.
There are also 3 new Titles on offer and two new trinkets being provided with 3 levels each so 9 more cards in total. When you add Villains of Eriador via the Collection tab on the Menu screen of the App it will immediately make them available even if you are in the middle of a campaign. Indeed, I added this pack halfway through my Bones of Arnor game and Bilbo has just been awarded the Nemesis title for applying the Coup-de-Grace to Gulgotar! Yes “Even the smallest person can change the course of the future”.
The Figures
Three more superb figures to add to your collection and enhance your gaming experience. They are all about 40mm high, cast flash-free in standard Villain dark grey resin. They are all highly detailed with Coalfang having a 3D base in the form of some rocks on which he stands passant. Note you absolutely don’t need them to complete your campaigns but they add hugely to the atmosphere.
Similarily you don’t need to paint them to use them but they are just crying out for a bit of decorative love and attention. All three of these characters are creations of the minds of the Fantasy Flight Games creative authors for their carefully crafted stories which gives you licence to paint them how you will. There are plenty of suggestions about on the Internet but I just did my own thing with Army Painter Speed Paint 2.0 paints to blend in with my other painted figures. If you are looking for a guide, though, the Gulgotar figure is used in the App’s menu screen to choose the Normal difficulty mode!
The Cards
First there are 3 new titles :-
- Title 22 – Nemesis – On removal this can stop an elite enemy from moving or attacking on the turn that it activates
- Title 23 – Lore Master – On removal this provides a huge Scout 5 before a test
- Title 24 – Ever wary – Allows you to flip a fear face down on activation and on removal gives protection against all counter attacks for your turn
Then there are 2 new trinkets, a Sceptre and a Pendant, each of which hacve 3 separate levels giving increasing buffs :-
Sceptre
- Level I – Old Sceptre
- Level II – Silver Sceptre
- Level III – The Silent Sceptre
Gives the Elf, Dwarf and Hobbit traits and increasing benefits on interaction
Pendant
- Level I – Fang Pendant
- Level II – Warg-fang Pendant
- Level III – Vengeance’s Bite
Gives various levels of hits in attack and with token depletion gives Inspiration or Determination
These Villains of Eriador add-on figure packs with the new cards that the App will immediately assimilate into your campaign are priced about right. A nice level of enhancement for you’re The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth experience.
